Always say Thank you for your service
As we approach Memorial Day, a day to honor those who have lost their lives in service to this country, we should take a moment to “know” who they are. Today we raise ur hands I salute to the U. S. Army.
The U.S. Army organizes, trains, and equips active duty and Reserve forces to preserve the peace, security, and defense of the United States.
It serves as the land-based branch of the UU. S. Armed Forces and is charged with:
- Preserving the peace and security and providing for the defense of the United States, the Commonwealths and possessions and any areas occupied by the United States
- Supporting the national policies
- I
mplementing the national objectives
- Overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States
The Army’s five core competencies are prompt and sustained land combat, combined arms operations (to include combined arms maneuver and wide–area security, armored and mechanized operations and airborne and air assault operations), special operations, to set and sustain the theater for the joint force, and to integrate national, multinational, and joint power on land.[23
Of all the Army values, honor is the one that embodies all the others. Honor is a matter of carrying out, acting, and living the values of respect, duty, loyalty, selfless service, integrity and personal courage in everything you do, according to the Army.
We feel honor while listening to our National Anthem or watching the posting of the colors. We show honor by recognizing the outstanding
contributions made by other Soldiers and civilians. We give honor to the flag and to the ideals it represents and the symbolism it lends to the greatness of our nation.
THE STRONGEST FORCE IN THE WORLD
The U.S. Army is made up of the most dedicated, most respected Soldiers in the world. These Soldiers protect America’s freedoms while serving at home and abroad, and they are always prepared to defend the nation in times of need.
A U.S. Army Soldier is the embodiment of physical and mental strength, prepared to serve whenever and wherever they are needed.
Thank you Desiree for your tributes to the US Army and the US Marines. These men deserve all the praise we can give to them for their sacrifices during both wartime and peacetime. Let’s stand when the national anthem is played and when our flag is raised.
God Bless America.
