You will read about me saying that a lot in the future, as my new series, HEROES RISING, hits both the print and virtual stands. Book One, DESPERATE DECEPTION, is already out and has received an incredible reception. Here are just a few of the quotes from reviews:
“Desperate Deception is a fantastic romantic suspense by Desiree Holt. Ms. Holt has once more delivered a well-written book populated with outstanding characters that readers won’t be able to put down.”
“Great chemistry with some steam and plenty of action. This was a wonderful story! Loved it!!”
“So intriguing, I had to keep reading until the last page. Sex scenes were excellent and more than inspiring. Would definitely recommend!”
“My heart is still racing from the ending!”
“As always, Desiree keeps the actions slamming at you hard and fast ride along with the Romance. Could not put it down! Do not miss this one!!!”
But this is only the beginning. In addition to my Defenders series there will be several more books in the Heroes Rising series?
Why do I chose to write abut SEALs? I don’t mean to disrespect any other branch of the service, especially in Special Forces, but to me SEALs sit at the top of the ladder. Those I have had the privilege of meeting and in some cases becoming friends with epitomize the mean of true heroism as well as being incredible people. In these times of uncertainty, the one thing you can be sure of is that SEALs will also protect and defend,d will serve their country with honor, and will dedicate themselves to the saving and protecting of live. I wanted to do something to honor, even in some small way, their contribution to the safety of this country and the sacrifices they make.
The United States Navy Sea, Air, and Land (SEAL) Teams, commonly known as Navy SEALs, are the U.S. Navy’s primary special operations force and a component of the Naval Special Warfare Command. The Navy SEALs were created by John F. Kennedy on 1 January 1962. Among the SEALs main functions are conducting small-unit unconventional special operation missions in maritime, jungle, urban, arctic, mountainous, and desert environments. SEALs are primarily tasked with capturing or if necessary, eliminating high level targets, or gathering intelligence behind enemy lines for future military actions. They are often referred to as “The cream of the crop”.
Any place where there are currently U.S. troops, you’ll find that SEALs are either there now or were there first. The role that Navy SEAL teams play revolves around getting in and out quickly and without being seen, gathering intelligence, destroying targets, and performing rescues, among other things.
What does it take to become a Navy SEAL? Even SEAL instructors can’t predict who will make it all the way. The common trait instructors see in future SEALs can’t really be defined, they just call it “fire in the gut.” You either have it or you don’t.

Thanks for sharing some of your research with us, and thanks for your amazing stories, Desiree!
My pleasure! I love doing this stuff.
Love ask the Seal books; they’re our heros
They sure are!
I found this very interesting and informative. I absolutely love reading books about Navy Seals. The romantic suspense books are the best. I am always on the edge of my seat and just can’t put the book down until I find out what happens next. Which by the way; has kept me up way, way later than I expected to be!! 😉 Oh well! Thank you for writing the books I love Desiree!!❤
I love you, too! And BTW, there will be at least 5 new SEAL books out in 2020.
I cant wait 😉
I love Seals and brotherhood and they treat each other like family
They sure do.
I have some respect for the Seals. I believe that Navy Seals are the baddest of the baddest. I’m not saying that the other branches are any less, but the Seal’s training is tough physically and emotionally and not every person can be a Seal. Also, I have learned something new from this research. I didn’t know JFK created the Navy Seals. Now, I want to do my own research of why. Thank you for sharing this iinteresting information.
Oh,. my pleasure. I’ll be adding a few more posts in the next couple of days.
Because they are the best of the best, they go where we would not even dream of going, they help those who need it and sort of take the trash out
You are so right.
You heroes are as amazing as your stories. I love that you mold them after real people.
I’ve done that from the beginning in most of my books. That’s because they are character driven so the people I meet insipre me.
Thanks for sharing your books with us and thank your friends for their service!!
I will and thanks to you.
I love reading about SEALs especially with how their families cope with them being gone and th3e ability to handle all the secretive things that their SEAL can’t tell them.
Yup. I’, going to work that more into the books, too. Thank you.
Your Seal stories are believable real, that’s what makes them so special. Your respect for Seals is so apparent in each story. Thanks for presenting Seal reality in your stories that just come alive.
You are so welcome. But you can thank my friend Jack Carr, among others, for my learning that. He is so impressive and just a really nice guy, too.
I Love books with Navy Seals. I have read Desoarate Deception and LOVED IT! SEALs are some of The Most Courageous men our Nation has. They go above and beyond to keep America safe.
I will always hold them in high esteem.
I enjoy reading about all our military heroes. SEALs tend to be the most popular featured.
