Welcome Brenna Zinn! Please start off by telling us a little about yourself.
Where to start? Iβm a coal minerβs daughter with a bigger than life imagination who grew up in Montana, Illinois, Georgia. After eloping with my Navy man in Gibraltar and living in Naval Station Rota, Spain for three years, I moved to Austin, Texas where I now live with the same Navy man and three humongous English Mastiffs. I recently gave up my job of 20 years to stay at home and write full time. I know, I know. What was I thinking??
I love men with Scottish accents, televisions shows involving ghosts and hauntings, traveling to cool places around the globe, and drinking Sailor Jerryβs spiced rum and diet Coke. I believe Sailor Jerryβs true identity is the younger, devilish brother of Capitan Morgan. Oh, and I love dancing. I used to win dance competitions in college for beer money. I was a very popular girl in college π
I have an extremely low tolerance for stupid people and brussel sprouts.
Is Daggerβs Edge a single title, or part of a series?
Itβs a part of the Sassy Seven series, SEALs on Fire. In all there are seven extremely sexy stories about 7 Navy SEALs on leave in Key West. Who doesnβt love a hero who is a SEAL?
What were your inspirations for the story?
While living at Naval Station Rota, Spain, I got to know a real Navy SEAL named Tom.
Tom fit what I believe most people imagine when they think of a SEAL. He was a big man, about six foot three inches tall, with wide shoulders and muscular arms and legs. Tom was also a very funny guy who loved to cook. After he got out of the service, he went to Germany to learn how to make sausage and to attend a cooking school. To this day I wish I could have had the chance to try some of Tom’s sausage. I’m sure it was delicious. (Sorry. That one was RIGHT there. I couldn’t let the obvious just pass by without comment.
Please share your setting for Daggerβs Edge. Have you ever lived or visited there? If so, what did you like most?
The setting is the beautiful Florida Key, Key West. Iβve only visited via internet pictures and I can tell you, Iβm absolutely in love with the place. I love the white sand beach, the deep blue of the water, and the very interesting conch home styles of the older homes. Iβm sure Iβd fit in to the Key West scene like a duck to water. If there are any Key West natives who want to invite me to stay for a few days, please e-mail me. Iβll be there in no time flat!
Blurb
Though well hidden, deep scars from Dean “Dagger” Gregory’s troubled past have influenced each important decision he’s ever made, including joining the military and keeping his distance from his best friend’s sister, Mia Benson, the only woman he’s ever loved. But after Dagger’s friend strong-arms him into checking on the feisty redhead during his leave in Key West, he finds himself under sexual attack and with no desireβor willpowerβto retreat.
Excerpt
βOh, I get it. So youβre afraid of my brother.β The prod was so easy to think of. Surely Dean wouldnβt be able to resist this carrot.
To her delight, his hand still holding hers tightened. Deep furrows dug into the skin between his brows.
βIβve never been afraid of another man in my life.β True to form, his voice dripped with indignation.
βThen kiss me.β
The challenge tumbled from her mouth as any glib remark mightβlittle emotion, all quick banter. Her expectation for his accepting the goad was low. He wasnβt exactly known for doing just anything when provoked, especially when the poke came from her.
In the milliseconds while she waited for his response through word or action, the world seemed to stop spinning. Her heart suddenly lodged in her throat. Her pulse raced in her veins as though sheβd taken some kind of drug spiked with adrenaline. The dare and his reply took on a meaning sheβd never intended. But there it was. More than ever before, she wanted his kiss. She needed his kiss. Hadnβt she loved him long enough to finally deserve to have her lips touch his?
βPlease, Dean,β Mia whispered earnestly. She stared at him, hoping heβd read the desperate pleading she tried to convey through her eyes. βJust one kiss.β

I hadn’t heard of the Sassy Seven series, SEALs on Fire the excerpt grabbed my attention – Love a good dare. I’ll have to head over to your site and check them out.
Heather,
The SEALs on Fire series are some terrific reads. I think nearly all of the stories from the series hit the Kindle #1 downloads when they were up for free reads this past spring. Though they aren’t free anymore, they’re only $1.99.
Dagger is one of my favorite leading men. *sigh*
Dagger’s story was super HOT! Totally enjoyed all the stories in the series. Keep ’em coming, Brenna.
Toured Key West whe we stopped there on our cruise last Thanksgiving. Beautiful place. You’d love it there! Lots of charm and history!
I SOOOO want to go there. Was watching house hunters this weekend. They had a few episodes from there. The water looks so blue it will make you want to cry.
It was truly beautiful. It’s the Disney Cruise this Thanksgiving so going to Nassau and Castaway Cay!
I wish I had sea legs. Unfortunately, once I can’t see land anymore, my sea legs completely give way and I get sick, sick, sick. I’m huge fun on cruises, as you can imagine π
I wear a motion sickness patch and that has kept me from getting seasick. So I love cruises.
H ey Brenna. Thvanks so much for helping me launch this book. Great party. Did you bring the vodka?
Unfortunately I think I drank all the vodka over the 4th of July weekend. Won’t be touching the stuff for a while. (At least until this weekend π
Thanks for being part of this tour!!
Thrilled to be here. It’s an honor to be asked to be a part of a release party for Desiree Holt.
Aw! I’m blushing!f
I’ve started this series and I love it!
I have to admit, the SEALs on Fire series is absolutely one of my favorites. Dagger’s Edge has proven to be one of the fan favorites out of all of my stories. I think the chemistry between Dagger and Mia is what really makes this story so special.
If you have a chance to read it, please let me know what you think. I absolutely LOVE feedback.
PS… here’s a secret (hope I don’t get in too much trouble for this). There’s going to be more SEALs stories coming out. I’m going to guess they’ll come out in January or February 2014. I’m currently working on my story now. There will be fewer stories, but they’ll be longer stories. Which seems to be what the readers want – at least from their feedback. VERY excited about this new series. Shhh..
Thanks!
I love Brenna! And of course who doesn’t love a sexy military man ??
Aww…Michelle, you absolutely made my day. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
(now where do I send that $50 bucks?) π
Being from a military town this series sounds like books I should be reading!!
LaGina,
Are you a military wife, too?
Some of the best times of my life were spent with great Navy folks at Naval Station Rota Spain. I’ve been back to Rota once about 8 years ago. It’s changed so much. But I still found my way around and ate more food than should be legal.
My current SEAL story (that I’m working on) takes place in Rota. Can’t tell you how nice it is to take a trip back, even if it’s in my mind.
This series sounds right up my alley….. Thank you for giving me another series to get into!!!!
Thank you for the giveaway!!!
Angela,
You’re so welcome. Hope you like Texas Coffee Traders coffee – if you’re the winner. You can perk up a nice cup of joe and snuggle up with one of my stories. Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me. π
I know i have read a few of these, need to look to see which ones i have missed. I very much enjoyed the ones i have read.
Kimberly,
Please do. If you are the winner of my give away and you haven’t read Dagger’s Edge, just let me know. I will definitely hook you up!
I haven’t heard of this series before. Now I can’t wait to read it and find out Dean’s decision.

Vanessa,
Let me warn you, Dagger is the kind of guy a girl can really fall for. Can’t tell you how many readers have told me about going ga-ga for him. I can’t blame them. You should have see the guy Dagger was based off of. Yowza!
This is a series I am going to have to check out asap! Thanks for sharing.
Gabrielle,
I can say with 100% confidence that you’re going to love each of the 7 books in the series. Each is a stand alone book, but the characters from each book find their way in all the books.
Let me know what you think. I adore feedback.
Love me some Brenna!!! π
Thank you, Heather A!
I hope you’re planning on going to the Wild, Wicked Weekend in San Antonio this coming February. I definitely want to buy you a drink π
I must check this series out! Great excerpt!
Heather,
A million thanks. Writing Dagger’s Edge was a complete joy for me. I hate that all of us writing for the series were limited to 15,000 words for each story. BUT… I’m not limited with the follow up book!! The next series will have fewer stories but longer word counts.
Trust me though. Start off with the SEALs on Fire series then prepare for the next. You won’t be sorry. Pinky swear.
Ive read this one! It was fantastic! Loved the characters! Definitely looking forward to reading more of your work! Thanks!
Thank you, Shadow.
I’m so glad you liked it. I’m currently working on two stories right now. Boy are my fingers tired π I think all the readers will just fall in love with the characters from the next series. I know I have!
Dagger’s story is what drew me to the SEALS on Fire series and they’re all now in my tbr pile and my hot little hands can’t wait to get to them!
Madelina,
That’s the nicest thing I’ve heard all day. Thank you. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate reading comments like yours.
A million thanks!
I thought I was gonna faint when I read “please, just on kiss” …
Kyla,
So you know about the popcicle situation then. π―
I loved that scene. Wish I had a box of popcicles in my fridge right now…
Thanks for the comment!
A fellow Austinite – yay! I hear you about SEALS – what’s not to love? (at least in our imaginations). I can’t wait to read your books.
I visited Key West many years ago when I lived in Florida – it is everything you think it is, and then some! I strongly encourage you to go. π
Thank you for participating in Ms Holt’s launch party.
Hi Karen,
Yes, I not only live in Austin, I’m totally in love with the place. Recently had a loaded nachos plate at The Cedar Door in downtown. Holy crap, that was a LOT of food. If you haven’t eaten there, I highly recommend it. Be careful though. I had their margaritas once when I was supposed to see Johnathan Edwards with my sister. The drinks were so strong, but so tasty, I was in no shape to see if any of my dead relatives wanted to say hi during Johnathan Edwards show. π
